We strongly recommend at least a two-night stay in our area, to allow enough time for a truly memorable Trolltunga adventure.

Those travelling by road to and from Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), on the Lysefjord in Rogaland County, can with advantage consider spending a night in the charming mountain village of Røldal, renowned for its stave church and fascinating history.

Camp Lothepus

Camp Lothepus is a caravan camp by the fjord in Odda. Camp Lothepus is situated by the Sørfjord, on “the tip” of Odda. You can enjoy the view of the mountains and fjord, fish og take a stroll into the city centre. Nearby attractions are not far away, like Trolltunga, Buerbreen glacier and “the valley of waterfalls”.

Stana gard

Stana gard is situated by the Hardangerfjord at Stana, 3 km from Tyssedal and 9 km from the centre of Odda. There are 2 holiday houses, both with a panoramic view of the fjord, waterfalls and the Folgefonna glacier. Both houses are fully equipped and have nice patio areas with furniture and barbeque grills. The garden around the houses has fruit trees. Down by the fjord there is a quay and a boat available for guests. Stana gard is 9 km from Skjeggedal, the starting point for hiking to Trolltunga.

Sundal, Kvinnherad:

Sundal Camping

Sundal Camping is situated in the beautiful Maurangerfjord, a part of the Hardangerfjord. The campsite is located on the shore of the fjord in Sunndal with views towards the Bondhus glacier, the Bondhus valley and the fjord. Cabins are available in different sizes, from 20 square meters to 64 square meters. There are 60 lots available for campervans, caravans and tents. There is also a guest harbour. From 2018 there is a separate parking place by the fjord near the camp site for campervans. On the camp site there are 3 sanitation facilities, kiosk, common rooms, barbeque area, playground and a bathing place.

Sundal Camping is a good starting point for experiences on the fjord and in the mountains. You can walk to the Bondhus valley and the Bondhus glacier. Canoes and boats with outboard engines for rent. Good fishing possibilities in the river and in the sea. The guests at Sundal Camping can also visit a farm with cows, sheep and a farm museum.

Seim Camping

Seim camping is located at Seim farm by the shore of Røldalsvatnet lake. The campsite is in quiet and family friendly surroundings, with a lovely view of the lake and the mountains. The campsite has its own swimming and fishing place, a 100 meters walking distance from the site.

At Seim Camping we have three modern and well equipped cabins, build in 2006, for allyear rental, and four smaller and simple cabins for rental during the summer.

Skysstasjonen Cabins/ Camping

Røldal is a mountain hamlet, 400 metres above sea-level. From here you can hike and fish in the mountains or fish in the Røldalsvatnet lake. There are as many as four fjords to choose between, all within 45 km.: the Saudafjord, Hardangerfjord, Åkrafjord and Hyllsfjord.

Hotel Ullensvang

Hotel Ullensvang is a first class hotel, owned by the same family in 5 generations throughout more than 160 years. Located in beautiful surroundings in Lofthus and in Norway’s largest fruit orchard, Hardanger. The blossoming period is one of the most stunning periods, lasting from approximately mid May until mid June. The hotel is situated directly by the fjord, with a view over the Hardangerfjord and Folgefonna glacier. Also a good starting point for tours to Trolltunga.

Utne Hotel

Utne Hotel is one Norway’s oldest hotel in continual operation, licensed since 1722. It was founded in 1722 by Sergeant Børsem, who was granted permission by King Christian VII to operate an inn as partial payment after the great Scandinavian War. His family took over operations in 1787, running the hotel up until the end of 1995. Torbjørg Utne (1812 – 1903), known as “Mother Utne”, gave the hotel the distinctive character it has today.
